or Sponge Bob dolls with you for that, ah... special treatment.
Email us for special requests such as this. When you arrive with the wife's toaster, or stereo, be sure to bring your video camera too. Wait... maybe not! How would that look in divorce court?
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET HERE

with enough parking. Some will have to park on the road. If you are
parking on the road, park ONLY on the same side of the road as the

of targets. You can purchase as many sets of targets as you would like.
Proceed to the firing line and give your ticket to a Line Safety

ABOUT THUNDER IN THE HILLS
To be notified of updates, email us. Put EXPLOSIVES SHOOT in the subject line. info@ozarkpyro.com
It is easier to explain, and people can easily understand,
shooting at dynamite. However, you will be shooting at a High
Explosive pyrotechnic composition that we make ourselves that is designed to
react when hit with a bullet traveling at a certain velocity. This
reaction is to detonate, or explode when hit with a certain amount
of force. We can make compositions that a fly landing on will set
off, to something that takes train to hit it first. We are still working on and testing targets, and we always will
be.
You're not watching it in a movie, you will actually be
"shooting at dynamite" -- in
reality.
Large rifle targets are placed between 100 and 175 yards
down range.
Rimfire targets are placed at the 50 yard line.
Pistol targets are placed at the 25 yard line. Pistol shooters
can also shoot at the 50 yard targets too.
Exploding clay targets are launched one at a time and require
size 6 shot or larger to set the target off.
Rimfire and Pistol targets are the size of a cap to a 35mm film
canister.
The large rifle targets are made of newspaper and are in the
shape of a large, fat Lysol spray can. They are painted red to be
easier to see.
All targets must be hit squarely to detonate. People that
are "chasing the bull," or hitting around the target, will strike
the edge of the target breaking open the target and scattering its
contents without an explosion. This goes double for the exploding
clays, if only one or a couple of pellets strike the clay on its
edge it will break the clay but not detonate the target.
As an example, (we should have taken a photo of it) at one shoot
a large rifle target was thought to have been hit numerous times.
When we looked at the target it looked as if someone took a razor
blade and ran it down the sides of the target in numerous places,
but nothing was spilled so we reused the target. It was eventually
hit and it did detonate.
Bottom line... Only a direct and solid hit on your target will
get the BOOM that we are all looking forward to FEELING!
DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE EVENTS. These events are for the
whole family. There will be vendors with food & drinks, and of
course, restrooms.
DIRECTIONS
From Interstate 44 and Lebanon, Missouri
If you look at the maps below there is another way to our property from the
North, but we have found that most people miss the turns on the dirt roads. It is not that much
farther to follow the directions below.
Take highway 5 south, just before you reach the Hartville city limits, Highway
Z, will be on your left. Take Z to the left, on Z you will pass highway E.
Just past highway E the first dirt road to the left is Krause Rd. Take the left on Krause.
Krause makes a series of curves, when you reach the straight section of Krause
road we are a short distance up on the right. If you reach Ince Drive, you have
gone too far. If you're on Krause Road you can't miss us.
From Branson, or Springfield, Missouri, follow either of the directions
below.
From Interstate 44 and Marshfield, Missouri
Take highway 38 East to Hartville. (It is along this road that received the
brunt of the areas tornado damage. There may be crews still cleaning up by the
road.) Use extreme caution on this road, there is semi-truck traffic, as well as
horse and buggy traffic, narrow bridges, and one lane bridges. When you get to
the intersection of 38 and 5 in town, our only flashing light, make a left,
North on highway 5. North on 5, just past the city limits on your right is
highway Z. Take Z to the right. Just past highway E the first dirt
road to the left is Krause Rd. Take the left on Krause.
Krause makes a series of curves, when you reach the straight section of Krause
road we are a short distance up on the right. If you reach Ince Drive, you have
gone too far. If you're on Krause Road you can't miss us.
From Highway 60 Mansfield, and Ava, Missouri.
Take highway 5 North to Hartville. You will pass highway 38 in town, our only
flashing light! Continue North on 5, just past the city limits on your right is
highway Z. Take a right on Z.
Neither of the maps below are exact, but they will get you here.

OUR FIRST EVENT
APRIL 2006 EXPLOSIVES SHOOT

Mansfield Mirror
With no video it was very difficult to get a photo
of a target as it exploded.
The weather was perfect, the temperature could not
have been better, and the food was great. Gary Smith from
Grovespring was the top shooter of the day. We look forward to
having him back for our next event.
We used 4 different types of explosives for the 5
shooting lanes. Some of the targets had problems that were related
to the humid day, but most explosions were large and loud pleasing
the crowd, and they could
be heard for miles.
The editor of the Mansfield Mirror covered our
first event. There were some very large storms nearby and the TV
news crews called and cancelled, at the same time they were to show
up, saying they were covering the storms.
